Robert Balchick, MD

Why PLA?
I appreciates the gap in lifelong learning that the Physicians Leadership Academy tries to fill no matter the field a physician chooses, because leadership is important to everything we do.

Robert Balchick began his health care career in private practice in Urology and transitioned from clinical practice to administrative medicine. He has held positions as Chief Medical Officer for the State of Ohio’s Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, as Adjunct Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University’s College of Public Health and is currently employed by Aetna, Inc. in the national accounts self-insured division. He held appointments to the Governor’s Task Forces for Prescription Drug Abuse and Health Information Technology, to the Board of Directors of a start up biopharmaceutical company and currently to the Board of Directors of the non-profit Physician’s Care Connection as its Vice-President.

Dr. Balchick received his Medical Degree from The Ohio State University and completed a Urologic residency at the Northeastern Ohio College of Medicine. He also holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from The Ohio State University as well as a Certified Physician Executive certification from the American College of Physician Executives. He is Board Certified in Urology and licensed in Ohio and in Florida.
